Our Successes

The Wall That Heals
July 18-21, the City of Irvine, Vietnam Veterans Association Inc., Chapter 1024 and Visions2Victory hosted The Wall That Heals and the Global War on Terror Wall of Remembrance. Irvine's Adopted Marines served as Color Guard in ceremonies and the 2/11 Chaplain, Diana Hampton offered the Benediction. Car Wash
On June 29, IMAC held its annual Car Wash fundraiser. 40 members of the 2/11 washed nearly 150 cars at Woodbridge Community Park. This outstanding turnout was supported by Pronto Auto Wash, Chick-Fil-A, Jersey Mike's (Von Karman location), Papa John's, Janny's Donuts, Albertsons, Sprouts and members of the IMAC Advisory Committee. Volunteers pitched in from Lion's Heart and teenagers from the local community. This event, one of the largest fundraising events of the year, would not be possible without the generous and continued support of our sponsors, partners and volunteers.
Memorial Day Ceremony
Members of the 2/11 were present at the City of Irvine's Memorial Day Ceremony on May 27.

Runway Dash
On May 18, the Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee along with 30 Marines from Camp Pendleton, and the Kiwanis Club of Irvine partnered with the Orange County Great Park to present the Runway Dash 5K, 1 Mile Fun Run & Pancake Breakfast. We had a great turnout with 700 visitors enjoying a pancake breakfast and over 500 participants for the 5K and 1 mile runs. Overall, $8,000 was raised to support the 2/11 Marines and their families stationed at Camp Pendleton and the Kiwanis Club of Irvine. A huge THANK YOU goes out to Alberstons of Irvine for sponsoring the race Recovery Zone and to the 100 OC Sheriff’s Academy Recruits who ran the race in formation. A fun time was had by all.

Albertsons Cookie Drive

February 1-14, 2013
Local Albertsons stores participated in a Cookie Drive ending on Valentine's Day. More than 1200 bags of fresh baked Albertsons Cookies were decorated with messages of love and gratitude. It was an engineering feat to fit that many cookies into a van for the ride back to Camp Pendleton, but with Marine determination and knowhow, they succeeded! The Marines were really happy to receive the delicious treats and messages.
