Irvine Police Host Community Outreach Event at Orange Tree Square

11/18/2011

On Saturday, December 3, 2011, between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., the Irvine Police Department’s Community Outreach Unit will host their first, Business Community Outreach Event at Orange Tree Square, Walnut Avenue and Jeffrey Road.

Business Community Officers, Michael Tu and Christina Kim are coordinating the event which will highlight the various services the Department offers both business and residential community members in Irvine.

The newly formed Business Community Officer (BCO) program has been hugely successful enhancing communication between the business community and the police department. Formed about a year ago, Business Community Officers patrol shopping centers and other commercial business complexes, making themselves available to address business specific issues including crime prevention and other “quality of life” issues affecting those working and shopping in Irvine’s business community.

Several police vehicles including the award-winning Mobile Communications Vehicle and the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Rescue Vehicle will be on display the event.  Representatives from the Emergency Management, Crime Prevention, Animal Services and DARE units will be available to speak with business owners and residents and to pass out educational materials.

Join us for this fun and informational event!
