Baraka means blessing: the breath or essence of life from which the evolutionary process unfolds. It is a transcendently poetic and meditative visual tour of the globe, with images from 24 different countries, told without words and accompanied only by world music.

This film encompasses a variety of religious rituals, forms of architecture, nature and humanity in states of both harmony and calamity. Baraka displays the uniquely exotic as well as the universal commonalities of all cultures. It also includes groundbreaking moonlit time-lapse views of Angkor Wat by filmmaker Ron Fricke. This film premiered in Los Angeles in 1992, and was not shown in Orange County theaters at that time.
