| News Details | Volunteer to Help Irvine’s School-Aged Children8/5/2010 The Irvine Child Care Project (ICCP) is currently seeking volunteer community members interested in serving on its Program Assessment and Review Committee (PARC). PARC members work as volunteers to ensure that Irvine's school-aged children receive quality before and after school care by monitoring the curriculum of licensed nonprofit agencies operating on all 22 Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) elementary school campuses.
ICCP serves more than 2,000 participants daily, with members of its PARC committee conducting annual site reviews to help ICCP identify program strengths and provide feedback to child care programs on possible enhancements and/or improvements.
PARC meetings are held the third Thursday of each month from 9:15–11 a.m. at the Irvine Child Resource Center. Interested applicants must commit to a one-year term of active participation and are required to participate in monthly meetings and site reviews. Each committee member is responsible to conduct approximately four site reviews annually. The reviews are generally scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons between the hours of 1-6 p.m., with occasional follow up visits as needed.
