Irvine Child Care Committee Seeks Applicants

The City of Irvine is seeking volunteers to fill two child care provider and two government, civic or community agency vacancies on the Irvine Child Care Committee. The Committee is comprised of five City Council appointees, two community child care providers, two parents/guardians and five agency representatives.

The Committee works in a cooperative relationship with the support of the Community Services Commission, the Child Care Coordination Office, and the Community Development Department to enhance the provision of child care and education, provide outreach and to serve as a liaison to the community as a whole.

Applicants must commit to a two-year term of active participation and attend monthly Committee meetings held on the second Tuesday of select months from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Heritage Park Community Center or other designated Irvine location.

The application period opens on Tuesday, September 3. Completed applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Monday, September 30.  Click here to download application or pick one up at the Irvine Child Resource Center, located at 14341 Yale Avenue in Irvine.  

Applications may be returned by mail to the Child Care Coordination Office, P.O. Box 19575, Irvine, CA 92623; hand-delivered to the Irvine Child Resource Center Monday through Thursday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.; faxed to 949-551-8504 or emailed to tstubbler@cityofirvine.org.

The appointment period for the Irvine Child Care Committee begins January 2014.
