Figuratively Speaking Art Exhibition

The Irvine Fine Arts Center presents Figuratively Speaking, a group show featuring figurative drawings, paintings, and sculptures from several local artists beginning  February 25 through March 31 at the Fine Arts Center Gallery, located at14321 Yale Avenue.   From oils to acrylics, ceramic to mixed media, the show explores the artists’ conceptual ideas of the subject of figurative art.

Exhibitors include painters Catherine Bennaton, Tim Hower, Ellen Rose, and former Woodbridge High School student Arlyn Pillay.   Mixed media artist and Irvine resident Walter Pruet, and ceramists Maile Iwanaga, Tae-Hoon Kim, Alanna DeRocchi, and Debbie Kupinsky will also be featured.

In conjunction with Figuratively Speaking, the Fine Arts Center is also pleased to highlight works from Woodbridge High School art teacher Claudia Posvar. Using oils, acrylic, pastels, and mixed media, Posvar’s subjects are selected for their sculptural and emotional qualities. Earning her bachelor’s degree and teaching credential in Art from California State University, Long Beach, Posvar has exhibited in numerous shows, including the Laguna Beach Festival of the Arts and her works are included in many private collections.
