Irvine’s Open Space Celebration

Irvine voters overwhelmingly approved the historic Open Space Initiative in 1988, which set the stage for the ongoing protection of more than 16,000 acres, while at the same time accommodating phased growth. To celebrate the dedication of 202 acres of open space and the official opening of the Quail Hill Trailhead and Quail Hill Loop Trail, the City of Irvine, Irvine Ranch Land Reserve Trust and The Irvine Company are hosting an Open Space Celebration on Saturday, June 9 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Quail Hill Trailhead. Festivities include a pancake breakfast, Quail Hill Loop 2-mile trail hike, pony rides and exhibits. For more information, call 949-724-6606.
