Irvine Parking Structure Dedication Ceremony

10/2/2008

The City of Irvine has eased the stress of commuter congestion with the opening of a new 490,000 square foot parking structure at Irvine Station. The four-level, three-story structure accommodates 1,500 vehicles; nearly tripling the station’s original parking allotment.

Funded by the Orange County Transportation Authority and Caltrans, the $26.8 million structure was completed five weeks ahead of schedule.

Located at 15215 Barranca Parkway in the Spectrum area, the Irvine Station has become a growing transportation hub in Orange County, serving an average of 3,000 Amtrak and Metrolink passengers each week day.

The station offers such amenities as complimentary parking, restrooms, pay phones, ATM machines, food services, bike lockers, vending machines, information kiosks, newspaper stands, rental car services, Quik-Trak ticket machines and an Amtrak ticket counter and lobby. The station also supports local and rail-feeder bus services operated by the Orange County Transportation Authority and local Irvine businesses.

The official dedication of the parking structure will take place on Thursday, October 2 from 4:30 - 6 p.m. For more information, call (949) 724-7543.
