The City operates and maintains this radio station to better provide effective emergency communication to motorist and residents. This station broadcasts throughout Irvine 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can provide real-time emergency information including: evacuations, road closures, emergency services and shelter during situations such as earthquakes, fires, power outages or other disasters. In an emergency, tune to AM 1640 on your radio or listen live online.
